Umpiring controversies aren't new to cricket. Certainly not to the IPL. A plethora of incidents come to mind from across the years. Whether it's the last-ball no-ball that wasn't noticed in the MI-RCB clash all those years ago or MS Dhoni storming into the field for what was again a no-ball incident that was called and then not called. Or Rishabh Pant threatening to call his batters back for, you guessed it right, a no-ball that wasn't called.

That Pant incident had come in a DC-RR clash in the 2022 season and this year, it was RR's turn to be on the receiving end. The night culminated in a loss for the visitors in Delhi and a Code of Conduct breach resulting in 30% match fee penalty for their captain Sanju Samson.
